Final Project
For my final project of the semester I decided to embroider a dress. This project was extremely tough for me being that this was the first thing I ever embroidered. I didn’t get to fully finish it sadly but I will get it done on my own time in the future.
Painted skull
For my third project in the second semester. I decided to paint a raccoon skull which I found a few weeks before I started this project. The first side I painted is loosely based off Claude Monets- Water Lilies. Then the second side is also loosely based off the print by Hokusai- The Great Wave off Kanagawa. I didn’t have many problems with this project as I did with the cow skull.
Primary
For my second project in the second semester, I done an abstract piece. I chose primary colors because just three colors can make a huge difference in a painting. Then I done circles and squares because in my mind some people are circles that fit into the regular, average life but others may be squares and go onto do amazing things.
FloWer sunset
For my first project in the second semester I done a mixed media project of a flower made out of black colored pencil and the landscape is made out of watercolor. I chose the colors for the background because i wanted it to show a sunset and for the flower, I chose black because i wanted to make the background stick out more. This project relates to me because mostly in are you either see one lone object or you see three so with this one I chose to do one because it represents how each person can be alone.
Book binding
I made a Japanese Stab book. I done the tiara type, there’s so many types to choose from. With Japanese Stab binding you can’t go twice over the same string which was a little challenging. I was drilling the holes for the string to go through and the fabric ripped and I had to start over. Which was very upsetting.
Cow skull
This project has been something different and new to me. I don't paint a lot and when i do it's with watercolor paints. I've never painted a skull of any kind and its was a learning process. I changed what I was going to do so many times, that's something I've struggled with a lot is being indecisive. Art doesn't help me with it because I'm normally behind but I'm very happy with how this project turned out even though its very different than what I was going to do at first.
Pelican
Glass painting
For my final project I painted a piece of glass. I wanted to make leaves falling in summer. I’m also re-doing my room to have a earthy tone so this will work well in my room.
